Recreational Rental Kiosk - Future Concept
The Recreational Rental Kiosk at Wallace Pond is designed to provide residents and visitors with fun, family-friendly access to the water—while supporting the long-term stewardship and improvement of the park. Every rental helps fund ongoing maintenance, environmental monitoring, and youth STEM programs connected to the pond.
What We Offer
Our kiosk will provide a small but growing selection of recreational rentals and basic sundries. These services make the park more enjoyable for everyone and create sustainable revenue for community programs.
- Paddle Boats – Perfect for relaxed family fun on Wallace Pond.
- Canoes – For exploring the shoreline and enjoying quiet time on the water.
- Bicycles – Ride around the park on the a path part of the current walking path.
- Sundries & Convenience Items – Drinks, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, and other small essentials to make your visit more comfortable.
Why It Matters
All proceeds from rentals and sales directly support:
- Park Operations – Maintenance, trail upkeep, dock repairs, and site improvements.
- Pond Stewardship – Water-quality monitoring, beaver management, habitat care, and environmental health.
- Youth STEM Programs – Hands-on science activities, data collection projects, and educational experiences built around the pond and natural systems.
- Community Events – Seasonal activities, volunteer days, and family-friendly gatherings.
By enjoying the pond, visitors help protect it. The Rental Kiosk is one of the ways Greater Toledo Heritage and Horizons supports sustainable recreation and keeps Wallace Pond thriving for future generations.
Our Goal
The kiosk may expand to include additional types of rentals, seasonal programming, and community-led activities. Our goal is to connect recreation, education, and environmental stewardship in a way that benefits the entire community.
